CEO of LGW Executive Consultants, LLC
Expert in Management Consulting, Transformation, and Change Management

Laurie Waligurski knows that meaningful change starts with strong leadership and a clear vision. As the founder and CEO of LGW Executive Consultants, LLC, Laurie leverages her 30+ years of experience in the tech industry to help organizations navigate transformation, overcome challenges, and thrive. Her mission is rooted in empowering leaders and teams to embrace change and achieve clarity and alignment in their goals.

From Corporate Leader to Entrepreneur: Laurie’s Journey

Laurie’s path to entrepreneurship was shaped by decades of experience leading transformational change at a global tech company. Specializing in process optimization, organizational design, and cultural shifts, she developed a deep passion for guiding teams through complex transitions.

“The decision to start my own business was the culmination of my career,” Laurie shares. “I realized that many organizations—especially those without the frameworks of large corporations—needed tailored tools and guidance to implement effective change. I launched my firm to bring this expertise to a broader audience and make a more direct, personal impact.”

Her inspiration? Laurie credits her family, especially her three adult children, for encouraging her to take the leap. “They’ve always been my biggest supporters and gave me the courage to think big and launch my business, even during the uncertainty of COVID,” she says.

The Rewards and Challenges of Transformation

Laurie thrives on helping organizations and their people embrace transformation, but she acknowledges the complexity of change as a significant challenge.

“Transformational initiatives often involve deep-rooted cultural shifts,” she explains. “It requires not just strategic planning but also emotional intelligence and resilience.”

Despite the challenges, the rewards are immeasurable:

  • Empowering Change: Guiding teams through challenges and seeing them emerge stronger.
  • Inspiring Others: As a woman-owned business leader, Laurie hopes to motivate women and minorities to step into leadership roles.
  • Personalized Solutions: Operating independently allows her to tailor strategies to each client’s unique needs.
  • Leaving a Legacy: Creating healthier, more productive workplaces that leave a lasting impact.

“I get to do what I love every day,” Laurie says. “That is the greatest reward.”

Laurie’s Advice: Be Brave, Take Risks, and Pay It Forward

Laurie encourages women to embrace their passions, take calculated risks, and give back.

“Be brave, take risks, and follow your passions,” she advises. “Then pay it forward—use your success to help others achieve their goals.”

Laurie participated in our panel discussion on the topic of The Power of Women in Executive Leadership: Strategies for Success and shared the insights below:

What is one actionable piece of advice we can implement immediately to step into their power and elevate their leadership?

Laurie recommends two key practices for personal and professional development. First, take a strengths assessment, like Gallup’s, to understand and articulate your top strengths in interviews and conversations with leaders. This helps build confidence and clarity. Second, create a visual vision board to balance and set boundaries in life, aiding in decisions about career advancement, hobbies, relationships, and personal values.

IAW: A Network of Support and Growth

Laurie finds the community invaluable as a new International Association of Women member.

“IAW provides a robust support structure, a place to share my dreams and address challenges,” she explains. “It’s a network of experts I can rely on and a space to give back based on my unique expertise. IAW also offers a safe environment to experiment and grow in ways that will benefit my business in the future.”

Her advice to new members? “Dive in, participate, and be active! You’ll gain as much as you give in this incredible community.”
