IAW recently hosted an after-work networking event in New York City and it was a huge success. With over 50 women in attendance, there were some great opportunities to connect, share stories, and learn how to empower your career.
Keynote speaker Emily Kapit, a triple-certified resume writer and the owner, lead resume writer and head career strategist at ReFresh Your Step presented “Your Empowered Career: How to be a Career Savvy LadyBoss.” During this presentation, Emily offered some great advice on how to form a strategy to help empower your career. This interactive session helped attendees focus on abilities, achievements and life goals so that they can be prepared and execute a strategic career strategy. For anybody that missed the presentation, you can watch the recorded version on Facebook Live below.
Event attendees also had the opportunity to network with each other. Networking with local women that share a common interest in professional goals can help anybody that wants career success. You never know when you will connect with somebody that can offer you advice or resources to help you take a step in the next direction.

A big thanks to The Benjamin Hotel for providing a wonderful space for our meeting. We had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Rebecca Roberts, a sleep expert who has worked to make stays at the Benjamin hotel comfortable and relaxing. Dr. Roberts offered tips to help us all sleep better at night. You can read more of her tips here.
“Thanks for a great event! It was so well done, I am interested in having my friends join. They would have loved the event! Thanks for your wonderful hard work and hope there is another event soon!”
