As one month ends and another begins, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and reset. Are you on track with your goals? Have your priorities shifted? Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to adjust your approach.
A monthly assessment—both personal and professional—helps you evaluate progress, recognize what’s working, and determine if it’s time to pivot. Successful women don’t just set goals—they adapt them to align with their evolving vision.
Here’s how you can conduct your own monthly check-in to stay aligned and intentional.
Step 1: Reflect on the Past Month
Before planning for the month ahead, take time to review the one that just passed. Ask yourself:
🔹 Wins – What accomplishments am I proud of?
🔹 Challenges – What obstacles did I face, and how did I handle them?
🔹 Lessons Learned – What worked well, and what needs to change?
This reflection helps you acknowledge progress and gain clarity on areas that need attention.
Step 2: Review Your Goals & Priorities
Goals aren’t meant to be set in stone. Life, work, and priorities shift—and that’s okay. Evaluate:
✔ Are my goals still aligned with my vision?
✔ Have my circumstances changed, requiring a shift in focus?
✔ Am I feeling energized or drained by my current objectives?
If a goal no longer serves you, it may be time to adjust, refocus, or replace it.
Step 3: Assess Your Work-Life Balance
Success isn’t just about hitting targets—it’s about maintaining a balanced, fulfilling life. Consider:
⚖ Am I prioritizing my well-being along with my professional growth?
⚖ Am I spending my time in ways that align with my values?
⚖ Do I need to set boundaries to protect my energy?
Making small adjustments to your schedule, workload, or self-care routine can help prevent burnout and increase productivity.
Step 4: Set Intentions for the New Month
With your reflections in mind, set clear, realistic goals for the upcoming month. Focus on:
🎯 One key professional goal
🎯 One personal goal
🎯 One mindset shift or habit to cultivate
Writing these down and sharing them with an accountability partner (or community) increases the likelihood of success.
Step 5: Leverage a Supportive Community
You don’t have to do this alone! Surrounding yourself with a strong network of women who are also goal-oriented can make a huge difference.
