This week on IAW’s podcast, Unlimited HERizons, host and president, Megan Bozzuto, chatted with a member Yengyee Lor about improving the employee experience and creating transformational work culture. She is the President and Founder of Faithful Consulting which delivers impactful culture transformation through coaching, consulting, training, and assessments. Yengyee is also the recent recipient of the IAW Inspirational Influencer Coach of the Year Award.
From her talk with Megan, here are some tips she gave on changing company culture:
Be authentic
Part of develping postive workplace environments is being open to others. Sharing personal experiences and shwoing up as yourself can help build lasting relationships with those around you. “We don’t get anywhere without the support of a network that believes in us. To build that is more than just selling a business, you have to know them and they have to know you. Meaning you need the right people in your circle who are really going to cheer you on and empower you. The only way to have those relationships is to be authentic yourself,” said Yengyee.
Have Your Back & More
Having one overarching voice does not invite inclusivity nor equal opportunity. Yet, creating a space where everyone feels safe and heard takes a bit of time. The reward, however, outways it. “I love the women who have your back in front of others, but to your face they can give you constructive feedback. For me, my team and I build those kinds of relationships where they can give their honest opinions. That’s how we grow our thinking perspectives and beliefs,” explained Yengyee.
