Microhabits

Shooting for large health goals can feel like racing to the marathon finishline when you forgot your sneakers. Breaking it down into smaller steps that are achievable daily steps that build you up to achieveing that larger goal. It keeps you motivated instead of disheartened. “That’s what I help my clients to break things down into the tiniest microhabits. An example could be you want to do ten pushups but you can’t do one. So you might want to start with one wall pushup for the goal of the day. I encourage people to make a chart, put a sticker up, or fill in a box something that you can see you are accomplishing it” explains Sue.

Looking for the positive

When it comes to our bodies, its so easy to slip into comparisons and point out what you don’t like about your body. It only enforces the negatives and you’ll forget everything you love about yourself. “How many times in a day do we point out what went well? I encourage everyone to buy a gratitude journal to focus on what went well during the day. Especially if you do it at night, that rolls around your subconsious the whole night long” said Sue.
