Toshiana Baker believes beauty isn’t just skin deep—it’s cellular, spiritual, and profoundly human.
As the Founder of SpaWorx and creator of the AuraMELT™ Method, Toshiana has spent nearly two decades bridging the gap between science and soul in the beauty and wellness industry. Her work is driven by a mission to help professionals and clients alike reconnect with themselves through holistic, inclusive, and transformative experiences.
“I specialize in neuroaesthetics,” she explains, “the study of how our brains and bodies respond to touch, texture, scent, and connection. It’s where skin, science, and soul meet.”
Through her work as an educator, strategist, and industry leader, Toshiana is redefining what it means to truly care for others—and for oneself.
A Journey from Healing to Empowerment
Toshiana’s story began with a simple passion: helping people feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. As a licensed esthetician, she thrived in luxury spas and later took on corporate leadership roles. But as her experience grew, she began to notice something missing.
“There was a lack of advanced education, inclusive representation, and true wellness integration,” she recalls. “I realized the industry needed a shift—a bridge between professionalism and purpose.”
That realization led her to launch SpaWorx and the Network of Multi-Cultural Spa and Wellness Professionals (NMSWP)—two groundbreaking ventures dedicated to education, empowerment, and representation in beauty and wellness.
“My mission has always been about access,” Toshiana says. “Access to knowledge, to opportunity, and to the kind of healing that honors every culture and every body.”
A Survivor’s Perspective: Redefining Resilience
In 2023, Toshiana’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. That battle would become one of her greatest teachers.
“Cancer changed everything,” she shares. “It reminded me that wellness isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. It pushed me to live fully, to stop waiting for perfect timing, and to launch projects that had been on my heart for years.”
One of those projects was AuraMELT™, a neuroaesthetics-based wellness method that integrates sensory healing, intentional movement, and mindfulness. Through AuraMELT™, Toshiana trains spa and wellness professionals worldwide to elevate the client experience—blending the science of the nervous system with the art of soulful care.
“Coming through that season taught me that healing is both personal and collective,” she reflects. “When we heal ourselves, we give others permission to do the same.”
Redefining Beauty and Success
Toshiana’s expertise spans the globe—from sales enablement and multicultural marketing to holistic education and spa business strategy. Yet, her philosophy remains simple: authenticity is the new luxury.
“Trust the unique power of your journey,” she advises. “Your lived experiences and your expertise are what make you magnetic. The combination is your superpower.”
Her work has already inspired hundreds of professionals to embrace a more mindful and inclusive approach to wellness. Now, she’s focused on expanding the reach of AuraMELT™ worldwide and scaling the NMSWP community to provide greater access to mentorship and training for underrepresented professionals.
“I believe beauty and wellness are more than industries,” she says. “They’re vehicles for empowerment.”
A Community That Celebrates and Elevates
For Toshiana, joining IAW has provided more than just visibility—it’s offered belonging.
“IAW gives women a platform to connect, collaborate, and be seen,” she says. “It’s a space where we don’t have to walk this journey alone. Every woman I’ve met here reminds me that leadership isn’t about competition—it’s about community.”
Her advice for new members?
“Lean in. Show up. Tell your story. The power of this network lies in our willingness to be both seen and supportive.”
