Founder & CEO of I Will Survive, Inc. | Advocate for Women’s Health & Breast Cancer Awareness
Anisa Palmer’s story is one of courage, vision, and unwavering purpose. As the Founder and CEO of I Will Survive, Inc., she leads a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to increasing survival rates for women facing breast cancer, especially in underserved communities. But her work isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal.
A Vision in the Desert: Where Purpose Found Her
Anisa’s journey began in one of the most unexpected places: during her second military tour in Iraq, mourning the loss of her mother to breast cancer. Amid the grief and chaos of war, she experienced what felt like a vision—her mother, appearing before her in the desert.
💬 “In that moment, I knew I had found my calling.”
That vision led to the creation of I Will Survive, Inc., a nonprofit that now serves thousands of women and families through education, economic support, and health services. What started as a tribute to her mother’s legacy has grown into a movement that offers strength, hope, and tangible resources to women in need.
Challenges in the Fight—and the Fuel to Keep Going
Anisa is no stranger to challenges. Leading a nonprofit in the current political and healthcare climate is not for the faint of heart.
💡 “Resources are being cut, and the political agenda is having a deeper impact than many realize,” she shares.
Yet amid the adversity, Anisa continues to fight for families who are fighting for their lives. The most rewarding part of her work? Watching women ring the bell after completing cancer treatment—and seeing their loved ones celebrate right alongside them.
Bold Vision: The Future of Accessible Healthcare
Anisa isn’t stopping anytime soon. Her next major goal? Launching the organization’s first AI-powered mobile women’s clinic, a project that will bring early detection and screening services directly to communities that need them most.
With a $100,000 grant already secured and a fundraising campaign in progress, this mobile clinic is poised to change lives—offering access, education, and empowerment at scale.
“This is grassroots growth with real impact,” Anisa explains. “We’re expanding access to healthcare and saving lives—one screening at a time.”
Breaking Ceilings, Building Tables
As a thought leader, Anisa is deeply committed to helping women lead with boldness and purpose.
Her advice?
💥 “Don’t be afraid to break glass ceilings—and when there’s no seat at the table, build your own.”
Whether it’s running a nonprofit, navigating grant proposals, or pioneering mobile healthcare innovations, Anisa is proof that leadership isn’t about waiting for permission—it’s about carving out your space and lifting others as you rise.
Honoring Her Mother’s Legacy
Anisa’s mother passed away at the age of 38—a milestone that Anisa recently reached herself. It was an emotional birthday, a poignant reminder of everything she’s building in her mother’s honor.
💬 “She was a teacher, a community advocate, and even while battling cancer, she would sing and dance to lift others up. Every day, I get to carry that legacy forward.”
Her work is infused with that same spirit—joy, resilience, and an unshakable belief in community care.
The Power of Women Supporting Women
As a proud member of the International Association of Women (IAW), Anisa has found strength in numbers.
💛 “I’m incredibly grateful for the network of strong, driven women I’ve connected with. It’s empowering to be surrounded by fellow entrepreneurs and business owners who inspire and uplift one another.”
