Featured IAW Member | Holistic Wellness & Sustainable Success Expert | Founder, Live Great Lives Holistic Wellness Coaching
Dr. Angela Harden-Mack has spent more than three decades in medicine.
She has seen what happens when high-achieving women keep pushing past their limits. And she has spent years creating a different conversation.
You do not have to choose between ambition and wellness. You deserve both.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Angela’s path into this work was both professional and deeply personal.
As a physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, she spent years caring for women who looked successful on the outside but were quietly exhausted underneath.
Many were leaders, professionals, caregivers, entrepreneurs, and high achievers who had learned how to function through chronic stress, emotional depletion, and burnout because they believed that was simply what success required.
She watched women neglect their own health while prioritizing everyone else. She saw stress-related illnesses increasing. She saw women disconnected from rest, joy, peace, and even their own identities because they had spent years surviving in hustle mode.
What struck her most was how normalized it had all become.
Women were praised for how much they could carry, endure, sacrifice, and accomplish – even when it came at the expense of their own well-being.
That realization changed her.
She wanted to create a different conversation around women’s health and success – one that addressed not only physical wellness, but emotional wellness, mindset, purpose, and sustainable living.
That vision became Live Great Lives Holistic Wellness Coaching.
THE WORK SHE DOES NOW
Dr. Angela’s expertise spans women’s wellness, burnout prevention, stress management, obesity medicine, holistic wellness coaching, and helping high-achieving women create sustainable success without sacrificing their health, peace, or personal identity.
Through Live Great Lives, she combines evidence-based medicine, holistic wellness strategies, mindset work, and lifestyle transformation to help women reclaim their energy, health, resilience, and wholeness.
She is the Founder of The WELL Woman Movement, a bestselling author, and a keynote speaker whose work reaches women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
Her message goes beyond traditional healthcare.
I help women understand how chronic stress, burnout, emotional overload, perfectionism, and hustle culture impact not only their health, but also their relationships, leadership, confidence, and overall quality of life.
THE HARDEST PART OF THIS WORK
One of the most challenging parts of this work is helping women recognize that burnout is not a badge of honor.
So many high-achieving women have spent years tying their worth to productivity, performance, caregiving, and achievement. Rest feels uncomfortable. Boundaries feel selfish. Slowing down feels unfamiliar.
There are women who have become so accustomed to survival mode that they no longer remember what true balance or peace feels like.
Helping them unlearn those patterns takes more than surface-level self-care advice. It requires mindset shifts, emotional healing, behavioral changes, and a complete redefinition of what success actually means.
The most rewarding part?
Watching women reconnect with themselves again. It’s seeing a woman realize she no longer has to abandon herself in order to succeed. It’s helping her reclaim her health, confidence, joy, and sense of identity outside of constant performance.
That transformation ripples into every part of her life – health, leadership, relationships, family, career, and overall well-being.
THE SHIFT THAT SHAPED EVERYTHING
Dr. Angela’s perspective was profoundly shaped by the stories women shared with her behind closed doors – stories that rarely matched the image the world saw on the outside.
Many of the women I encountered were accomplished, thoughtful, capable, and deeply committed to the people and responsibilities they cared about. But in quieter conversations, there was often an underlying theme of pressure, constant responsibility, and very little space to pause and ask themselves what they needed in return.
What struck her most was how rarely women felt encouraged to prioritize their own well-being without guilt.
That shifted how she approached her work entirely. She became passionate about creating wellness conversations rooted not in perfection or balance, but in sustainability, self-awareness, and helping women build lives that support both their ambition and their humanity.
Dr. Angela’s advice to women is grounded in something she has witnessed across decades of practice.
Create a life and definition of success that truly supports your well-being, joy, and purpose.
For generations, many women were taught that self-sacrifice was the measure of love, leadership, ambition, and strength.
She pushes back on that narrative with compassion and conviction.
There is strength in rest. There is wisdom in boundaries. There is power in asking for support and honoring your own needs.
And for any woman still carrying too much?
You do not have to choose between ambition and wellness. You deserve both.
For Dr. Angela, IAW represents something she believes is essential for women in leadership and entrepreneurship.
IAW has provided a space for visibility, connection, and authentic support among women who are building, leading, and evolving.
It’s easy as a woman in leadership to become isolated in responsibilities, focused solely on achievement. IAW creates opportunities to be seen not only for accomplishments, but for voice, expertise, and impact.
For me, IAW represents collaboration over competition and the power of women supporting one another’s growth, leadership, and visibility.
Her advice to women new to the community:
You do not have to arrive already having everything figured out in order to belong here. Give yourself permission to fully receive support, inspiration, and encouragement throughout your journey. Pay attention to the conversations that challenge your thinking, the moments that make you feel seen, and the spaces that remind you that ambition and well-being can coexist.
Dr. Angela’s vision for the future is focused and purposeful.
She is expanding the conversation around sustainable success and wellness for high-achieving women through speaking, thought leadership, and her newest book:
Beyond the Hustle: Burnout Prevention for High-Achieving Women
Through this work, I hope to help women redefine success in a way that prioritizes both ambition and well-being, while creating greater awareness around burnout prevention, leadership, and sustainable growth.
If you are a high-achieving woman who has ever felt exhausted from constantly pushing, over-performing, or carrying the weight of everything on your shoulders – this book was written with you in mind.
