The thought of leaving the military can be a frightening concept for soldiers and their families. The life that once seemed normal—deployments, training, provisional assignments—is suddenly gone, and the transition back into the civilian workforce can be overwhelming to say the least.
IAW thrives on the diversity of our membership. We support our Veterans and believe that military experience helps create natural leaders in the civilian workforce.

In late January/early February of 2012, I received a call from an IAW representative, who told me about the association and the benefits of joining a powerful network of professional women. At the time, I was transitioning out of the workforce community I’d been a part of for so many years and expanding my existing consultancy full time. I can honestly say, my purchase of a membership was not just an investment in myself but an opportunity to join a community of like-minded professional women and entrepreneurs. I have not been disappointed in this “investment.”

Real Estate Broker
Local Chapter President, Orland Park Chapter
As a Real Estate Broker who found my passion for real estate while attending Moraine Valley Community College in search of a finance degree, I was quickly approached by an instructor with a local real estate office to pursue that path instead. After an elective course, my peers and I knew that my passion to help others, along with my passion for real estate, would make a difference in many people’s lives. So much so that I was voted “Rookie of the Year” nationwide that very same year!
