I have worked in the hospitality industry for more than ten years and can now add Certified Wedding and Event Planner to my resume. As the owner of Majestic Occasions, I’m beyond excited to help clients celebrate special occasions and make their dreams a realty.

When I think about what has contributed to my company’s success, I believe it is my attention to detail, being consistent and always maintaining a positive attitude. I do a lot of networking online and at weekend events. Being upbeat is so important in this business, so I make it a point to read motivational stories and to always stay busy. I also focus my thoughts on my vision board, which really helps to inspire me and gets my creative juices flowing.

To ensure every event I am running goes as smoothly as possible, I always make a checklist, go over it several times, try to rest as the date gets closer and never fail to go in with an open mind and a positive attitude. Sometimes, if I’m feeling disrespected or underappreciated, I heed the advice I received from another woman when I first started out in this business. She told me it’s important to set goals with deadlines and remember why you started on that path in the first place. ‘Always choose you’ is what she told me to keep in mind.

I think brides-to-be can use many of the same techniques I use to run my company when it comes to managing their upcoming wedding: pay attention to detail, be consistent and stay positive! Here are the ten tips I recommend to help the newly engaged couple (they’re from a recent blog I posted on my website):

  • Tell your family & friends
  • Get your ring sized and insured
  • Get a manicure
  • Set your date or at least the season you want to get married in
  • Book your engagement photos
  • Create an official announcement for social media, press, etc.
  • Choose your wedding party
  • Take time to enjoy the excitement with your fiancé
  • Create a guest list and budget
  • Start booking vendors

I look forward to continuing to grow my company and helping to make dreams come true for happy couples!
