Born from Loss, Built for Purpose

Melony’s path to founding Be Radiant wasn’t mapped out on a whiteboard. It was forged through grief.

“My work was born from a deeply personal season of loss and reflection. Within nine months, I experienced the passing of five loved ones. That season changed my perspective on time, purpose, and the importance of living intentionally.”

As she navigated grief, she began asking bigger questions about what truly matters and how she wanted to spend the life she’d been given.

“I realized that many people were carrying incredible vision and potential but were trapped by uncertainty, fear, or waiting for the ‘perfect’ moment. What started as a personal commitment to make each day count evolved into a mission to help others do the same.”

She founded Be Radiant to help leaders and entrepreneurs move beyond hesitation, trust their vision, and take purposeful action — a mission that now lives through coaching, speaking, leadership development, and the growing Say YES Movement.

The Moment Everything Changed

A specific decision became the turning point that shaped how Melony leads today.

“A pivotal moment came when I made the decision to stop tolerating circumstances that were no longer aligned with who I was becoming. It required courage, faith, and a willingness to embrace uncertainty. I realized that growth often demands difficult decisions and that waiting for someone else to create change was no longer an option.”

That decision became the foundation for The Say YES Method — and the movement that continues to impact people around the world.

“It taught me that one courageous ‘yes’ can alter the trajectory of a life, a business, or a legacy.”

The Gap Between Knowing and Doing

The work has its own particular kind of challenge — and reward.

“The greatest challenge is often helping people bridge the gap between what they know they are capable of and what they are consistently executing. Many talented leaders struggle not because they lack ability, but because they are navigating competing priorities, uncertainty, or the pressure of doing everything at once.”

What keeps her going is what happens on the other side of that gap.

“The most rewarding part is witnessing transformation. There is something incredibly powerful about watching someone move from doubt to confidence, from confusion to clarity, and from inaction to meaningful results. Seeing leaders step fully into their purpose and create impact — not only in their own lives but in the lives of those they serve — is what continues to inspire me every day.”

Stop Waiting for Certainty

Melony’s advice to other women is a direct extension of her own method:

“Stop waiting for certainty before you take action. Many women have spent years gathering knowledge, earning credentials, and preparing for opportunities, yet they often underestimate the value they already bring. Leadership is not built through perfect conditions; it is built through consistent decisions and courageous action.”

She encourages women to trust themselves, embrace progress over perfection, and remember that clarity often comes through movement rather than contemplation alone.

“Your voice, experience, and perspective matter. The world does not need more women shrinking their vision. It needs more women leading with conviction, collaboration, and confidence. Most importantly, build relationships — success is rarely a solo journey.”

Clarity Follows Commitment

For women newer to IAW, Melony’s advice ties directly back to the philosophy behind her work:

“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to choose courage and say yes to a new possibility. Many women believe they need a perfect plan before taking action, but growth rarely happens that way. Through The Say YES Method, I teach that clarity often follows commitment — the first step isn’t having every answer, it is being willing to say yes to the next right step, even when it feels unfamiliar or uncertain.”

“I am passionate about helping leaders create sustainable success without sacrificing their well-being, values, or purpose.”

She also hopes to continue growing Prayer Lifeline and Courageous Beginnings, extending support and practical resources to people navigating significant life transitions.

“Ultimately, my goal is simple: to help more people recognize what is possible, act on their vision, and create meaningful impact that extends far beyond themselves.”
